Ridiculous Education(Moral)An arguement about Greed/gratefulness

This is one of the most ridiculous subject brought up by the Education Ministry. First of all a student will need to memorize not learn or enjoy this subject. To simply get good grades one must memorize word by word, even a little missed on the word will be considered as wrong. The government wants teens/students to have and practice moral values but this is certainly a wrong concept. They claimed to have 'serious' meetings with a panel of experts, but anyone with a sane mind should know this is insane... Now moving to my purpose why i am writing this(if not this will take forever)

It was Moral period and my teacher(will remain anonymous) flipped open a Moral work book and read a statement written. It goes like this, 'Dunia ini mencukupi untuk orang yang bersyukur tetapi tidak mencukupi bagi orang yang tamak dan haloba'.

Which means in english is The world is enough to those who are grateful, the world will never be enough for those who are greedy.

The question asked in the book are all ridiculious and wants the student to write an obvios answer which is to support the statement(what happened to critical thinking?). We are 16 years old damnit!

After that my teacher started explaining about all the badness of greediness, than touched about religion saying how its bad not ato appreciate and be thankful to something or whatever you own. Thankful/ Grateful to God on the house you own, computers, bla bla and blek.

I bet the teacher(even gender is protected to avoid taking wild guesses) is just teaching us from the book and not even using basic common sense.

Here are my arguments on why this statement is inaccurate and bio us.

For example, throughout history if everybody is freaking grateful to god and appreciate whatever he owns/uses there will be no progress. Etc, If caveman said thank you god or spirit for letting me kill the other bastard, and tiger for this huge cave. Guess what? 20000 years later we will be still thanking god for having a good cave to live.

2nd, if you think caveman can't appreciate read this. If Bill Gates, doesn't commercialize his Windows or program Windows, but instead says thank you for giving me good parents, we wont have Windows..to operate with

Greediness is essential to human and i think is the most unique nature of human after his creativeness and critical thinking. W/out greed there is no progress, i agree gratefulness is needed but not till the extend you worship it like what moral is teaching us. Remember w/out the extreme greediness of some man you won't have the technology, knowledge and wealth. Feel free to comment(debatable philosophy). Good day.

  1. 1st of all,if u were to argue about moral education,u might as well talk about the whole education in Malaysia itself.
3 quarter of the history text book in form 4 is filled with Islam stuffs.whats the point for us wif different religions to know about Islam?I thought they want to have a 'multi racial society'?
the writers are all Malays too.i'm not trying to discriminate or talk bad about them but it is not logical for the ministry of education to force all students to know about 'their' religion.it is bad.
about the moral education, their main purpose is to see who has the better memorising power in a way.And for those who dont have the memorising power, they will have to read it more often and in a way will somehow practice it in he/her daily life.
you are just blaming the moral education, then what would be your solution instead?how do you expect to 'moralise' the students?

  4. hmm.. hmm... its not that i want to 'discriminate' or what, but do you know why u actually learn moral education for? I agree that memorizing is stupid and ignorant and divert it away from what real moral education is all about.. However, is there any losses for you if u learnt it? Or are there benefits if u don't? And even if, u are a total flop at memorizing and hate moral badly. it reflects the way how you look at our malaysia education.. And what you are today, is what malaysian education gave you.. remember that.. Conclusion: Smile..=) and stop whining, get back to your stuff.. i want see u in IIU trashing teams 2 months later.. Lolz

  7. Yo!

You guys damn narrow minded. have you even read the contents. What i am trying to prove is a statement taught in moral can have more perspective and point of views than whats being taught. The title is just a main header. LOL
